RELEASE UPDATE – Kieran Mahon: Two States/Airships on the Water: Folded into Bells/The Corrupting Sea: TEARS Out This Friday!
Hello Somewherecold Records supporters! May 15th is a big day for the label. First, we will be releasing the debut on the label from the amazing UK artist Kieran Mahon with his Frostbite release Two States. The series has grown since it started and Mahon‘s inclusion in it is a welcome addition. Limited to 45 copies, this 27+ minute track is a gloriously calming piece of ambient mastery. It comes in a beautiful Ivory envelope with the Frostbite logo on the cover.
Next up this Friday is the incredible Airships on the Water: Folded into Bells. Mix the dynamics of This Will Destroy You with the soft and lilting tones of The Album Leaf and you have an approximate description of this sonic masterpiece. This album is a rarity and the music is gorgeous. Hailing from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Airships on the Water is the solo project of Russel Hensley from the band Take Shapes. Folded into Bells is a sonic journey without equal and brings something new sounding to the table. Both soothing and engaging, Folded into Bells is likely to be one of the best albums of 2020.
The last release is actually originating from another label. The Corrupting Sea‘s newest album will be released on aquietroom. It is a label out of Germany and the album is entitled Tears. Since aquietroom is strictly a digital label, I have asked if Somewherecold Records could print up a small run of physical copies for The Corrupting Sea‘s fans. This will be something we’ve never done before. The album will come in a printed box with printed CDr and a bunch of other goodies. The boxes have come in and construction of the boxes and their content will be completed next week. The digital album will be out this Friday on aquietroom and the very limited physical copies (about 10 available to the public) will be released on the Somewherecold Records bandcamp page sometime next week.
