FOR IMMEDIATE PRE-ORDER! Fermion: Hysteresis Out Oct. 22nd

Fermion joins the Somewherecold Records family with their full length Hysteresis. The electronic duo combine a number of genres to produce a sound that pushes the edges, not unlike their fellow New York artist Jeremy Bastard.
The idea of Fermion formed after Augustine and Eric met at an electronic music producers meet-up in New York City one evening and they got to talking and realized how much they had in common musically and what they might want to make together. The idea stayed dormant for a while but in 2019, the creative electricity that was flowing through both of them finally coalesced and the duo started creating sounds that melded their styles seamlessly. Since the inception of the project, the duo have made an EP and 2 albums; the second called Hysteresis. on the label Somewherecold Records on October 22, 2021. The band incorporates the best of synth-pop. industrial, ambient, along with other styles, and feel that electronic music should push the boundaries of sound sculpture, songwriting, and character to give the listeners feeling and emotion often dissociated with synthesizers. They are influenced often by seminal new wave, and industrial and executing those styles wrapping them in modern aural flourishes.

Eric heads the two decade old project Phenotract and also writes music ambient, house, and techno tracks under his own name. He has multiple albums and singles out and also runs a label called 3Bridge Records based out of NYC.  Augustine’s background is based in analog synthesizers, classical music, and purely instrumental electronic sounds. He has a devout interest in pushing boundaries of sound design and atmosphere and this shines through in his work with Fermion.

Get those pre-orders in early to get a copy! If you can get it tomorrow, it will be bandcamp day and the label and artist will receive the extra 10% that bandcamp usually takes from orders.
