OUT TODAY! Jeremy Bastard: Everyone is History, There is No Memory on Vinyl (Somewherecold Records, 2021)
Out today is the opening sonic salvo of Somewherecold Records 2021! Jeremy Bastard: Everyone is History, There is No Memory on vinyl and digital.
New York DJ and Autodrone guitarist Jeremy Bastard releases his first official full-length on Somewherecold Records. The album is a product of Jeremy being sequestered in Florida during 2020 and communicating with fellow artists who are fantastic singers. Singers included on the album are Elektra Monet, Sean Flannigan, Disolve, Peter Riley, The Dossier, Vladimir Vallette, The Mystic Underground, Emilie Bienne, and David Katz. Utilizing incredible song-craft, Jeremy Bastard lays down the club thumping, shoegaze laden, moody goth foundations for his choice of incredible singers who each wrote their own lyrics. While this is the case, the album is very cohesive which is a difficult thing to pull off with such a variety of vocalists.
Ten full tracks, the album is accompanied by two former singles with unique tracks that do not come with the album. At the center of the album is Jeremy Bastard‘s work which shows his ability to blend, enhance, and make new a mixture of shoegaze, dreampop, goth, electronica, dance, DJ mixes, and so much more. His atmospheric compositions shine on this album and the choice of songs and their order make the album magically flow.
The first release of the year on Somewherecold Records comes on vinyl and digital. This is part of the kick off of 2021 is an attempt to move into a more varied set of physical releases that include vinyl.
One apology: the vinyl has been delayed and will come soon. Once they arrive at Somewherecold, they will be shipped out. For now, get that copy to help out the label and artist and enjoy the downloads. It’s one of those albums that is fantastic from the very first to the last note!
