OUT TODAY – Owl Eyes: Acropolis (Somewherecold Records, 2020)

Hello again Somewherecold Supporters! Things keep on moving forward and today is the release of the debut album from Owl Eyes entitled Acropolis. The project is a collaboration between John Lane (A Journey of Giraffes) and Jason T. Lamoreaux (The Corrupting Sea). It was expertly mastered by Orange Crate Art. Months in the making, the process was fluid, comfortable, and felt like old friends who had been recording together for ages. Passing files through the internet, Lane and Lamoreaux combined their unique styles to create a third singular voice. While The Corrupting Sea and A Journey of Giraffes can be heard under the surface, the combination of the two really does create something altogether new.

Ambient textures swirl among static and occasional beats. There is a sense of mystery, historical imagination, and cinematic whimsy to the album. Acropolis will hopefully be the first among many collaborative albums between Lane and Lamoreaux in the future.

Acropolis comes either in limited Digipak of 50 copies or in digital format.
