Tom Lugo has been making music for decades, championing the shoegaze scene and darker indie music. Alongside Jason Ellis, the duo form the dark indie pop project Under the Wire. With Lugo on guitars, bass, vocals, and programming and Ellis on programming and keys, the two create a hazy darkness that beckons to the early days of 4AD. Trapped is their new single, and it is a practice in depression and self-flagellation as the images paint a picture of a person who has lost everything in their lives. There is a sense of drifting here and the video itself paints the picture of someone Trapped by drug addiction and self-destruction.
