Steve Giacomelli has become a staple around here at Somewherecold. A consummate electronic and experimental artist, Giacomelli takes listeners on sonic journeys through space and time. His most recent release, Weather Calculator, is an analog synth tour de force that spins soundscapes into sonic journeys for the mind. Two months later, Giocomelli has released his newest video for the lead track on Weather Calculator entitled “Ionosphere”. The video plays into the journey oriented vibe of the album as you are taken on a trip along a dark highway amid floating, abstract images. It’s a perfect backdrop for the sci-fi-centric piece with ghostly lights passing you by on the highway and multi-colored clouds appearing in time with synth sounds. Check it out!
