This week’s featured track is the premiere of “Open Marriages – Petrels Remix” off of My Education’s new remix album Open Marriages + Remixes, which is being released on February 7, 2017. “Open Marriages’ is a new track off of their much anticipated Schiphol album due out in March. The original track is a beautifully written piece that has a powerful bass-line, gorgeous guitar melodies, pensive viola, perfectly placed synth pieces, and intricately accented drums. I have heard this track live and it is a monster. “Open Marriages – Petrels Remix” is a complete reimagining of “Open Marriages” as it takes the drum and bass tracks and injects them with volume. The viola is drawn out into a drone and the guitars and keys build walls of sound. The track is extended almost 3 minutes. The remix takes the inherent power of the original track and reimagines it into a wall of sound that is just glorious. Listen to the track here:
