Transverse: Slow Moving Apocalypse Out Now (Somewherecold Records, 2022)
TRANSVERSE is a musical group comprised of Jason Lamoreaux (The Corrupting Sea) and Matt Richter (autodealer). The duo met through the Somewherecold Record label, which Jason runs and which Matt was a fan of. After connecting through an open call for submission for a fundraising compilation, they became fast friends and mutual fans of the others musical endeavors.
Transverse was born through their shared love of electronic and experimental music, a sharp sense of sarcasm, and mutual dread. Over the latter half of 2021, they emailed tracks back and forth, and SLOW MOVING APOCALYPSE is the culmination of that effort, and the first of many, they hope. Work has already begun on a follow up, which should come as no surprise given the steady output of both musicians.
SLOW MOVING APOCALYPSE weaves through genres, styles, and instrumentation, to create a sonic atmosphere as influenced from current events as it is from any particular genre. But maybe with a little more hope. Hope or sarcasm. Even we’re not sure anymore.
