ALBUM PREMIERE: Oxy: FITA (Self-Release, 2018)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I absolutely love Oxy. Their EP released last year has been constantly in my music rotation without fail. Now they are releasing their debut full-length FITA and their singer, Sara Cândido, sent me a private stream to the album last night and, I have to say, I’m blown away once again. Rejoice! There is new Oxy music in the world! Of course, “Pink Socks”, the first single off of FITA gave us a wonderful glimpse into the album but it was just the tip of the iceberg. The album as a whole is beautifully coherent and really hangs together as 10 strong tracks that work as a long-form sort of art piece. Dreamy dreampop guitars populate FITA alongside gritty moments of explosive guitar leads. There is, as there was with the EP, an incredible maturity in these tracks. Of course, Cândido shines as Blandu Correia, Lucas Eduardo Pereira, Marcelo Vasconcelos, and Thiago Neves weave together dreampop tracks that will stand the test of time.

FITA just went live on Bandcamp! Get a copy asap, get in your car, roll down the windows, go on a road trip, and turn the volume up…. way up! I will have a write up for the entire album soon. Until then, crank it up people!
