Alternative Facts is a new and forthcoming compilation packed with new tracks from multiple shoegaze and dreampop artists one of which is Panda Riot. Somewherecold is proud to preview Panda Riot‘s exclusive track entitled “Gold Lines”. The compilation will be released by DKFM and includes new tracks from To the Wedding, Lightfoils, Brief Candle Sparkes, Balms, The Stargazer Lilies, Whimsical, Fawns of Love, Blackpool Astronomy, AEVE CVE (Preston Maddox), and Stellarscope. There are also non-exclusive tracks from Sheer, Chatham Rise, The Foreign Resort, Charlatan, Lazy Legs, Angel Falls, and A Thousand Hours. The proceeds from the comp will go to support Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union.

“Gold Lines” is a dreampop song drenched in cascading, shiny guitar lines and Rebecca‘s mesmerizing pop vocals accented with touches of reverb. Brian, Rebecca, and Cory, produce dense walls of sound through which Rebecca‘s soft, airy vocals emerge. Jose, accenting the swirling guitar parts with percussion, glues the band together. However, this isn’t the big, gigantic noise walls one might encounter, like on “Amanda in the Clouds” but rather like the shimmering moments in “Golden Age” or the more delicate moments in “Camden Line”. “Gold Lines” displays the band’s pop finesse which Panda Riot wraps in their dense, fuzzed out synth/guitar displays.
