Great Moon Essence was composed and recorded alone at Brandon Blair‘s, Aura Gaze, home studio on some dark and cold nights in late winter of ’22. The concept of Yin/Yang often came to mind. Blair’s intentions are to bring a calming meditative zone to the listener reminiscent of watching the sun rise. He used the benefit of having plenty of studio time and no deadlines to experiment with Indian tunings and scales, and even attached small wires to cymbals to get unique percussion sounds.

This work is highly influenced by Carlos Nino & Friends, Jonathan Goldman, and Kirtan (devotional songs).

Aura Gaze: Great Moon Essence will be released on September 16, 2022 on CD in beautiful digipak as well as all digital formats.
