After releasing a staggering seven eps – and an equal amount of live improv recordings – over the course of the last year, Cooper‘s latest offering, Mission To Microsha, on Somewherecold Records is the sonic culmination of years of expertly crafting atmospheric drones, taming unpredictably wild guitar feedback, wrangling amps on the verge of breakup, and orchestrating the washed out chaos of countless chains of effects pedals.

Heavy Sunrise‘s cinematic, otherworldly compositions have been described as being able to “transport the listener to another vast universe, with all its colorful nebulae and alien environments.” From the sensation of drifting weightlessly, to being caught in the roaring blast of a Cape Canaveral rocket launch, Heavy Sunrise leaves listeners tethered to the earth while still floating helplessly in the far-flung reaches of outer space.
