Many who are shoegaze and dreampop fans are well aware of A Thousand Hours by now. In March, the band came out with the brilliant Endless Grey and are now set to release their newest full-length called Sleep on July 22. Channeling the likes of artists from 4AD and Creation, A Thousand Hours has proven to record beautifully written pop songs with dark edges and dreampop sensibilities. “Shipwreck” opens Sleep with gorgeous vocals from Ali Kellogg. Chris Collier‘s arrangements are breathtaking on this album and “Shiprwreck”, along with the other tracks we’ve been privy to, suggest a greatness here (I’ve heard the whole album and I can tell you it’s worth the price of buying a physical copy).
